NYSE and Blockchain.com Sign MOU to List Tokenized Stocks

tokenized stocks — The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and cryptocurrency exchange Blockchain.com have signed a memorandum of understanding to list tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, pending regulatory approval.
According to a statement released Wednesday, the partnership would allow Blockchain.com users to trade tokenized equities on a planned NYSE digital alternative trading system. The move aims to provide global access to traditional financial assets via blockchain infrastructure.
“People shouldn’t be limited in owning stocks based on where they happen to live or the brokerage and information they may or may not have access to,” said Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith. NYSE Group President Lynn Martin stated the initiative unites “the trust of traditional finance with the innovation and accessibility of digital assets.”
The announcement follows the NYSE’s January disclosure that it was building a platform for 24/7 blockchain-settled trading of tokenized assets. It reflects accelerating institutional interest in tokenization, particularly following recent regulatory developments perceived as favorable to the digital asset space.
