Bitcoin on Track for First Three-Month Winning Streak Since 2012

Bitcoin is poised to close September with a gain, securing a rare three-month winning streak for July, August, and September that has not occurred since 2012.
According to CoinDesk data, BTC rose 4.8% in July and 25.2% in August. As of the report, prices were up 10.9% for September, trading around $86,140. The only other instance of consecutive gains in these three months was twelve years ago, when Bitcoin posted increases of 41.0%, 6.4%, and 24.4% respectively.
The historical precedent from 2012 shows that the streak was broken the following month, with Bitcoin declining 9.7% in October. However, that decline established a significant low from which the asset launched into a historic multi-month rally.
The current market performance highlights a period of sustained positive momentum for the leading cryptocurrency, drawing parallels to a much earlier phase in its market cycle.
