Coinbase Expands to IPO Shares for US Retail, Starting With Oura

IPO shares — Coinbase is expanding its financial services by offering U.S. retail customers the ability to request shares in initial public offerings, beginning with smart ring maker Oura.

The new service, available to eligible users on the Coinbase platform, allows them to request shares at the IPO price before the stock begins trading on public exchanges. The exchange noted that share allocations are not guaranteed and will depend on availability from the deal’s underwriters.

This move represents a significant expansion for the crypto-native platform into traditional equity capital markets. It provides Coinbase’s large user base with access to investment opportunities that have historically been reserved for institutional investors or clients of major Wall Street brokerages.

The offering is facilitated through Coinbase’s existing brokerage infrastructure. The company has not announced which other upcoming IPOs might be available through the service following Oura’s debut.
