Coinbase Files to List Single-Stock Perpetuals for Apple, Tesla, Nvidia
Coinbase Derivatives has filed with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to list perpetual futures contracts on the individual stocks of Apple, Tesla, and Nvidia.
The filing, made on September 18, 2026, seeks approval to offer U.S. traders 24/5 leveraged exposure to these major tech stocks without requiring them to own the underlying shares. Perpetual futures, or “perps,” are a popular derivative product in crypto markets that do not have an expiry date.
If approved, the contracts would be traded on Coinbase Derivatives, the exchange’s regulated futures platform. The move represents a significant expansion of the exchange’s traditional finance-linked offerings, bridging a gap between crypto-style trading and mainstream equities.
The filing underscores the growing institutionalization of crypto market infrastructure, as major platforms seek to offer a wider array of regulated financial products. The CFTC’s review process will determine whether these single-stock perpetuals are approved for trading.
