Nakamoto CEO Says AI Could Drive Bitcoin Adoption by Simplifying Onboarding

Nakamoto Holdings CEO David Bailey argues that artificial intelligence could become a major driver of Bitcoin adoption by simplifying the complex user onboarding process.

Speaking in a discussion hosted by investment bank TD Cowen, Bailey stated that the primary friction for mainstream Bitcoin adoption has historically been the user interface, not the asset itself. He pointed to wallets, addresses, and private keys as barriers that AI-powered tools could abstract away, making Bitcoin far more accessible to individuals and institutions.

TD Cowen analyst Lance Vitanza, who published a note on the conversation, described the idea as speculative but noteworthy for moving the adoption discussion beyond monetary policy and regulation. Bailey also emphasized that institutional adoption is still in its early stages, with spot ETFs and corporate treasuries representing a larger transformation in access over the past year than in the previous decade combined.

Bailey asserted that Bitcoin is reshaping traditional finance, not the other way around, as institutions adapt to an asset whose rules they do not control. He also downplayed the distinction between ‘treasury’ and ‘operating’ companies, suggesting the key metric is a business’s ability to grow its Bitcoin holdings per share over time.
