CoinCorner Launches Lloyd’s-Insured Multisig Bitcoin Vault

multisig Bitcoin vault — British bitcoin exchange CoinCorner has launched a new multisignature custody service called Vault, insured by Lloyd’s of London and developed with U.S. partner AnchorWatch.

The service, announced Tuesday, splits control of customer bitcoin keys between CoinCorner and AnchorWatch. It charges an annual fee of 1.5% and is designed for users seeking cold-storage security without managing hardware wallets themselves. CEO Danny Scott said the partnership offers “fully insured, multi-signature custody with the simplicity our customers expect.”

Deposits into a Vault do not move into the insured wallet immediately. Transfers typically occur on the first working day of the following month, with holdings verifiable on-chain via a provided wallet address. Customers can top up their vaults at any time and define their own identity verification rules for withdrawals.

The launch follows recent high-profile losses from single-signature wallet exploits, including the Coldcard hack where roughly $115 million was stolen. Multisignature setups are considered more secure but have historically been complex for non-technical users. CoinCorner and AnchorWatch aim to simplify the process by handling key distribution on the customer’s behalf.
