- Snapshot September 2026
Binance is still the venue other books are measured against. For liquid majors, the spot and perpetual order books are usually the deepest you will find. That matters more than another 1 bp of advertised fee: slippage on a real size is the fee you actually pay.
The retail spot schedule is typically 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker, with a 25% cut if you pay in BNB. Derivatives are cheaper than spot at the base tier. Schedules move — screenshot the fee page before you size up. Binance.com is not the US exchange; Americans are supposed to use Binance.US or another local entity, and many countries have their own restrictions.
Who it is for
Active traders outside restricted jurisdictions who want one account for spot, perps and a long tail of pairs. It is a poor fit if you need a US-listed, bankruptcy-remote story to tell a compliance officer.
Watch-outs
CZ’s 2023 guilty plea and the related corporate settlements are not ancient history. Keep withdrawals tested, enable withdrawal whitelist, and never treat an exchange balance as savings. Always type the official URL yourself. This is not an endorsement.
What works
- Usually the tightest books and widest altcoin list
- Cheap retail spot vs US-listed venues, with a deep VIP curve
- Fiat ramps and products in many (not all) countries
What to watch
- Long regulatory history — 2023 US settlements still define the brand
- Product maze: earn, launchpad, perps, options — easy to click the wrong thing
- You are trusting a centralized custodian with the keys
